Remember last year’s baked Boursin cheese with hot honey? It was wildly delicious and so easy to make. Well, these baked goat cheese balls are like a combination of the baked Boursin cheese and the baked goat cheese dip we shared a few years back.
These baked goat cheese balls are creamy with a crispy exterior. Giving you all the greatness of a fried goat cheese ball, without the mess and being a little better for you too! And to make them even better – drizzle with hot honey and fresh herbs. I went with rosemary, because it’s my favorite. But really, most herbs pair well with goat cheese, so use what you love. These would be a great appetizer to serve at a Super Bowl party!

Does it matter if I use flavored or plain goat cheese?
You can make this with plain goat cheese or use your favorite flavor.
Why freeze the goat cheese balls?
This is to help keep the cheese from leaking out while it’s baking. It also helps to get the cheese balls nice and firm before rolling in the coatings. Some of mine do leak out a little bit while baking, but most stay together without leaking out. I’ve noticed with a few other similar recipes, some people put the cheese balls in the freezer after coating them. If they’re leaking out too much for you, try freezing both before coating the balls and right before baking them.
