If last week’s tacos weren’t enough to inspire you to make something delicious to celebrate Cinco de Mayo – maybe this spicy grapefruit margarita is more up your alley! I’m a serious grapefruit lover and sometimes go for palomas. Usually I find that they add in grapefruit soda and it just makes it too sweet for me. These margs are perfectly fresh with a bit of spice and without being overwhelmingly sweet. You can leave out the liquor and mix in some club soda and extra sweetener if you’re the mocktail type!
- 1.5 oz silver tequila
- .5 oz triple sec
- 1.5 oz grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed
- .5 oz agave syrup (adjust according to sweetness preference)
- 1/4 jalapeño, sliced
Dip rim of a glass in agave nectar then tajin and add ice to glass.
Add jalapeños, agave syrup and lime juice to cocktail shaker and muddle.
Add ice, grapefruit juice, tequila, and triple sec to cocktail shaker.
Shake and strain over glass with ice.
Garnish with sliced grapefruit, jalapeño slices, and/or lime wedges.
