Pear and Whipped Goat Cheese Crostini

I have this thing with crostini. I can’t stop making them! And the newest one – this pear and whipped goat cheese crostini – it’s so, so good. But I think I say that about all of them – haa! Appetizers are one of my favorite foods to make, and eat. And with holiday gatherings coming up, it’s always good to have new ones to try out!

Crostini are just so fun and delicious to throw together. The possibilities for topping combinations is endless.

So what do we have going on here? First, there’s the goat cheese, mixed with a little cream cheese and olive oil and whipped till smooth and creamy. There’s just something about whipped cheese that gets me every time – it’s 1000 times better. Then there’s the delicious roasted pears; you can definitely just top the crostini with un-roasted sliced pears (I’ve made a couple variations of those in the past), but I love the extra flavor roasting them brought. (I didn’t roast mine for too long, I didn’t want the pears too soft). And finally topped with fresh thyme for a little savory kick and drizzled with honey. These pear and whipped goat cheese crostini are a perfect appetizer for upcoming holiday gatherings!
