I have a serious thing for dips if you haven’t noticed yet. Everything seems a little better with a dip to go along with it…because it’s just more food to be enjoying! A few years ago, I shared a fruit dip (oh man, sometimes looking back at old posts just makes me want to go back and restyle/reshoot them!) that’s a favorite in our family, and it’s sooo delicious! But it does have sugar in it and isn’t the healthiest – just a treat to enjoy every now & then. Since I’ve been (mostly 😬) avoiding refined sugars this month, I’ve had to come up with recipes that are healthier and satisfy my cravings. One thing I’ve been craving a lot is fruit, mostly berries, probably because it’s one of my only sources of sugar – ha! I’ve been trying not to buy them since they’re more expensive at this time of year when they’re not in season (I usually stick to apples & bananas), but finally gave in because weeks of a craving will do that to ya! Since I decided to splurge, I wanted to try out a healthier fruit dip to go along with it.
This dip is light & creamy and the perfect healthy addition to a fruit tray! You can leave out the cinnamon if you like, but I love cinnamon and liked the extra little spice it gave the dip.
And a random side story, but that does have to do with this dip: the day I was going to shoot this, my niece sent a text to our sugar free group with a similar recipe as this and said we should give it a try! I couldn’t believe the timing of that! And my cousin chimed in with 🎶when I dip you dip we dip🎶 and the song was stuck in my head for the rest of the week – so for those of you that know the song and are now singing it, you’re welcome! 😉
