Dryer Ball Essential Oil Blends – with Printable Label

Have you switched over to wool dryer balls yet? I made the switch about 6 years ago, and haven’t looked back since! They are so much better for your health (dryer sheets have sooo many chemicals in them 😣), the environment, and your wallet! And dryer ball essential oil blends are the best way to give your laundry a fresh scent! I love coming up with essential oil blends to use on my dryer balls, although you can just use one essential oil and not mix up your own blends. But then you don’t get to have a cute bottle like this on your laundry shelf! 😉 See below for some blend ideas or come up with your own!

As I mentioned, I switched over to wool dryer balls about 6 years ago, and I’m still using the same ones I originally bought! (Which aren’t the ones in these photos, they do get a little more rough looking with use). I actually didn’t use any kind of dryer sheets, dryer balls, or fabric softener for quite a while after I quit dryer sheets. While I loved the smell of dryer sheets, they just didn’t seem absolutely necessary and I didn’t need anyone to point out how wasteful they were as I watched the small garbage bag in the laundry room fill up so quickly. So I gave them up and wasn’t using anything (and our laundry survived!) until I heard about dryer balls helping reduce dry time.

I decided to try them out and have loved them ever since. Then came the news about the chemicals used in dryer sheets and fabric softeners and the research showing the negative health impacts these could be having on our bodies and I was even more glad I had ditched dryer sheets. I wanted my laundry to smell amazing so I started using essential oils on my dryer balls. Since I loved combining a few different oils, I decided to just make a little bottle for my dryer balls blends…and a label of course!

What You Need:

Directions:

Add desired essential oils to glass dropper bottle, replace cap. Gently shake to combine oils.

TO USE: place 1-2 drops on each dryer ball, add to dryer with clothes

Dryer Ball Essential Oil Blends:

  • Northern Lights Black Spruce + Lavender + Purification
  • Lavender + Lemon
  • Lemon + Orange + Purification
  • Lavender + Lemongrass
  • Eucalyptus + Peppermint + Orange
  • Eucalyptus + Lavender
  • Rosemary + Lemon + Lavender
  • Lavender + Eucalyptus + Purification

Tips:

Add as many drops of each oil into your bottle as desired. Obviously, whichever you use the most of, will have the strongest scent. Go easy on the stronger scented oils, or they will overpower the blend (like Purification, Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Lemongrass – I usually do less drops of these when using in a blend).

Using essential oils on your dryer balls can slightly discolor/stain the balls, just a heads up. The oils have never stained our clothes (I only use Young Living brand oils).
