Last year, my mind was overflowing with Valentine’s Day DIY ideas and this year I was struggling to think of anything! InMod sent us this gorgeous chair and it inspired me to make a faux fur pillow that doubles as a cozy seat cushion. I think the soft, natural pillow is the perfect contrast with the modern lines of the chair.
What you need:
How to do it:
-Create a heart template. (On paper or scrap fabric.)
-Use template to cut out two pieces of fur – cut 1/2″ extra around the template to leave room for the seam.
-Pin the two pieces of fur together with the outside facing in.
-Sew around the edge of the heart leaving a 1/2″ seam allowance. Leave a few inches open so you can stuff the pillow!
-Snip into the seam allowance every inch or so – this will make it easier to turn it right-side out. *Don’t cut through your seam!
-Turn the heart right-side out.
-Fill with stuffing until desired firmness.
-Use needle and thread to finish off the open edge.
Because if you aren’t going out on the town in a fancy fur coat for Valentine’s Day, you might as well have a fur heart pillow to snuggle up with at home! 😉
And if you’re looking for a gorgeous chair to set your new heart pillow on, we might be able to help you out with that. Check back on Monday… hint, hint. Or you can pick up your own here.
