Today, on 3.21, we celebrate one of our favorite little ladycakes who happened to be born with 3 copies of the 21st chromosome. The other day her pre-school teacher mentioned to me that in the beginning, she wasn’t sure how Fabienne would do in the {typical} 5 day program, but she has “blown them out of the water”. This little girl blows us out of the water all the time. She is full of joy, she is bright, she is determined, she is silly. I am so thankful to have her in my life, for how she is changing the way I see others. My hope for today is this:
“Pay attention to the person, the child, the soul—not the wheelchair, the chromosome, the difference. Allow yourself to be astonished—to learn something new from someone, to be inspired, to laugh, to enjoy a moment. And then pass it on. Spread your awareness message by the way you live, the way you speak and the way you treat people.” – Kelle Hampton
We love you Fabienne Joy!
