Another project from our new bedroom – we’re sharing how to turn a vase into a lamp. When we moved into our new room, I decided I wanted small table lamps, instead of the wall lamps we previously had. We had one small lamp already, and I wanted to find something the same size for the other side of the bed. It didn’t need to match, but I wanted the size to be similar. After spending months looking with no luck, I spotted this vase on sale at Walmart. It was exactly the right size base I was looking for, so I bought it with the hopes of turning it into a lamp.
Turns out, it was a pretty simple project! We had almost all the parts for it, from an old DIY lamp. It didn’t take very long to put together either. And I’m so happy with how it turned out. It’s the perfect fit for the room! We’ve got all the supplies listed below, as well as a short video on how to put it together.
Supplies for vase lamp:
- vase
- lampshade
- top for vase (like a jar lid)
- light socket
- threaded lamp pipe
- electrical cord (or get a kit with all 3)
- drill w/ drill bit the size of the pipe and a step drill bit
- hack saw
- diagonal cutting pliers
- screw driver
