DIY Slatted Console Table

Kicking off the new year with the last project I made for my brother’s room for the ORC in October! (Before all the holiday chaos began.) This DIY modern console table is something he desperately needed for this space… did you see the before photos of this space around the TV? I’d say it’s a major upgrade! 😂

I saw this one and wanted to make a cheaper version (I think this one cost me about $50) that included some of the natural wood I had used in other parts of the room. I didn’t have all the tools I really needed to make it “properly” but I made it work and love how it turned out! So don’t judge my steps if you watch the video! Ha! It worked out either way.

It’s perfect for this space in his room but would be a great piece for a living room or entryway too!

What you need for DIY Modern Console Table with Slatted Door:
  • 2 – 8′ 1″x12″s
  • 1 3/4″ square dowel
  • furring strips or any 1″x2″
  • miter saw
  • drill
  • screws
  • paint
  • wood glue
  • nail gun
  • hinge
