Bohemian Twist

Bohemian Twist Tutorial @themerrythoughtI’ve been stuck in a rut with styling my hair lately – it’s either down and all over the place or in a quick side braid. This simple twist and tuck hairstyle is perfect because it’s super quick and it looks great when it’s a bit messy.
Bohemian Twist Tutorial @themerrythought Put a thin elastic headband around your head, right behind your hairline. Begin by taking a section of hair in the front, twisting it slightly, and tucking it down through the headband.
Bohemian Twist Tutorial @themerrythought Continue to take sections of hair and twist them and tuck them through the elastic band until you get to the back of the head. Do the same on the other side of the head.
Bohemian Twist Tutorial @themerrythought Once you have tucked enough hair from each side that you are left with one section in the back, take that section of hair and loop through the elastic a few times until you can tuck all of the ends down in.
Bohemian Twist Tutorial @themerrythoughtBohemian Twist Tutorial @themerrythought I haven’t tried this on myself yet but I’m dying to! I’m thinking this is going to be one of my new favorite hairstyles!

I love this hairstyle! And, shocker of all shockers, I might actually be able to do this to my hair. I’m really horrible with this kind of thing. I’ve never been able to style my hair very well. I’ll have to give this twist a try this week! 🙂ReplyCancel

How the hell do you do it without the headband slipping of the top? Mine won’t stay on… ):ReplyCancel

It was kind of difficult to get this to work for me at first too because I wanted it to sit behind my bangs. I just had to make sure my band was pulled tight down to the nape of my neck to keep it in place.
You could also try using no-slip headbands. They seem to help.ReplyCancel

Are you supposed to be able to see the headband from the front? I’m really struggling with getting the front to not look ridiculous.ReplyCancel

When I wear this hairstyle you can see the band in a little section in the front unless I tease my hair a bit to get more volume and then twist the hair so it is higher and not pull it down into the headband as tightly. I try to use a thin, brown headband whenever I do this so it isn’t as noticeable either way.ReplyCancel

I love this! This is one of the clearest tutorials to this hairstyle that I’ve seen (and I stumbled upon this on Pinterest). 🙂ReplyCancel

I have been wearing this style like a 1000 days since I saw this post, its my favourite 🙂 People always think it’s difficult to do but it’s so easy. I did a post about it on my blog too, here is the link for if you’d like to see it :
