DIY Clothes Drying Rack

Create this folding DIY clothes drying rack with a few simple materials and enjoy extra space to hang clothes and linens to dry!

This is one of those projects that I’ve had on my to-make list for quite a while. And every time I did laundry and needed it, I would be annoyed that I hadn’t made it yet. Finally it’s made and I’m so glad to have this extra space for drying clothes that can’t go in the dryer! And in the coming months, I know I’ll get more use out of it as I won’t be able to use my clothes line during the freezing months of winter.

When Home Depot asked us to do a DIY Challenge using millworks as our material, I knew this project would be perfect for that! I wanted something that would hold more than just a couple of items. I also wanted to be able to move it to sunny spots within the house or just to an out of the way spot. And most importantly, be able to fold it up for storage when not in use. It’s also perfect for drying bulkier items (I’m thinking it will be nice in winter to dry the boy’s snow gear) because it has dowels that can move, so you can slide the dowels around to accommodate those items. You can find the tutorial for how to make your own over on The Home Depot’s blog
