Rosemary Bread // Bread Machine To Oven

Rosemary Bread // The Merrythought
A fresh loaf of bread baking in the oven is easier than you might think. Bread machines can often be found at thrift stores or garage sales. I love that the bread machine makes baking bread such a breeze. I don’t love the texture and shape of the bread when it’s cooked in the bread machine. My oh-so-wise mother taught me that the bread can easily be transferred from bread machine to oven. Brilliant. You know what’s even better than baking a fresh loaf of bread… having your husband bake you a fresh loaf of bread. Here’s a recent favorite from my bearded mister…
1 cup water
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning*
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

* you can easily make your own Italian seasoning

.. Place ingredients in bread machine in order recommended by manufacturer.
.. Choose ‘dough’ cycle on bread machine & let her do the dirty work!
.. Grease baking sheet with olive oil.
.. Dust hands with flour and remove dough from bread machine.
.. Form bread into loaf shape & place on baking sheet.
.. Cover with damp kitchen towel & place in warm oven until it rises, about an hour.
.. Preheat oven to 350 and bake until golden, about 40 min.
.. Remove from oven & allow it to cool 5-10 minutes, then transfer loaf to cooling rack so it doesn’t get soggy
.. Let cool for another 20 min, slice, butter and enjoy a slice of warm freshly baked bread! Marla
