DIY Terracotta Skeleton

I spotted this adorable terracotta skeleton a few weeks ago but it was almost $100 so I thought about using some oven bake clay to make my own. Then I remembered how much work it would take to carve out each piece of the skeleton and I actually need to do A LOT of work on my Halloween costumes for this year still. So I decided to make a quick, cheap DIY terracotta skeleton as a dupe of the West Elm version. And I think he’ll make a fun little addition to my Halloween decor for years to come! And a dupe doesn’t get much more simple than this project!

Materials Needed for DIY Terracotta Skeleton:

  • plastic skeleton (I got mine from the Dollar Tree but you can try this or this if your Dollar Tree has moved on to Christmas decor already)
  • paint
  • paint brushes
  • baking soda
