I’m a bit of a perfectionist. This leads to commitment issues in decorating our home. Because what if I come up with a better idea… Or come across a better piece… This leads to me sitting in a room with blank walls on a couch that I have disliked for 5 years. Commitment issues, I tell you! Thankfully my husband said “enough!”, and hung his guitar on the wall. It was a starting point and the motivation I needed to get moving. We grabbed a few other items and pictures that are meaningful to us including a painting by my grandpa, a letterpress poster for my husband’s band and an arrow picked up on our roadtrip from a Native artist. The collage wall brought much needed color and character to the room.

5 tips for creating a collage wall:
>> Choose an inspirational starting piece and build from there.
>> Find some old family photos [take pictures of the pictures & print!]
>> Use a mixture of photos and meaningful items.
>> Lay the items on the floor first to get an idea of layout and spacing.
>> Dive in! You can always adjust or add items later on.

Happy decorating!  Marla
