It’s not a wreath – can you believe it?! Although even as I’m typing this I’m thinking, really you could make this into a star wreath – add some greens and dried orange slices and bells. Ha! But here we are with these DIY yarn stars! I actually made these last Christmas but never got around to taking photos and sharing them on here.
They remind me a bit of the coziness of the cotton wreath I made a few years ago – which is still one of my favorite wreaths ever! I love how the softness works with the natural roughness of all the pine branches that I use to decorate the house.
You’ll only need a few materials for these and they’re super easy once you get the little angles figured out. And even if the angles aren’t perfect, (I made a few wonky ones) they still look cute! I included two different sized craft sticks. But if you want different sized stars, you can also cut down your craft sticks for that.

Materials needed for DIY Yarn Stars:
- hot glue gun
- craft sticks – large or small
- yarn – here’s some that I used: K+C Cozy, K+C Nordic, Cozy Wool Fleece
