DIY Wire Triangles

DIY Wire Triangles | The Merrythought I’m slowly continuing to work on a few more DIY decor projects to add to my living room as I’m restyling it. And last week I saw this easy and adorable wired pyramid over on Hello Lidy and it inspired me to make this cluster of 3D triangles to hang in a spot that was still bare.
DIY Wire Triangles | The MerrythoughtDIY Wire Triangles | The Merrythought What you need:
-Wire (Medium weight is best – the thick wire I used was too bulky and the really thin ones you couldn’t see once they were hung. My floral wire from the dollar store worked wonderfully.)
-Wire cutter
-Invisible thread
-Scissors

How to do it: There really is no exact science behind how I made the triangles but I’ll try to explain it: Use the wire to form the first two sides of your triangle (leave a little extra wire where you begin so you can wrap it around the base at the end.) Then bend the wire so that you have one side of the base, create another side of the triangle and wrap it around the point of the other two side then bend the wire back down toward the base. Right now you should have all four sides of the triangle and one side of the base. Bend your wire so that you go around the entire base of the pyramid (you will go over the one side of the base that you already had again) then wrap in place and trim extra. The piece of wire from one of the top sides of the triangle should still be separate – wrap that around the corner base of the triangle. Now attach the invisible thread and hang them!
