DIY Wooden Tassel Ornaments

Today we’ll be sharing some super simple wooden ornaments for all the minimal lovers like ourselves. We’ve been using plywood and craft board for nearly every project recently and we didn’t want Christmas to be left out from our obsession! These are very easy to make and easy to alter to your taste. For all of our crazy color loving ladies – skip the neutrals and add a bit of pink, mint, and gold and you’re good to go!DIY Wooden Tassel Ornaments @themerrythoughtWhat you need:
-2″ Wooden Balls
-Drill
-1/8″ Drill Bit
-Paint
-Paintbrush
-Embroidery Thread
-Embroidery Needle

How to make it: (See photos below)
-Drill a hole through the center of each ball. It’s helpful to drill a large hole in a scrap piece of wood for the ball to sit in so it will be easier to drill a straight hole.
-Paint as desired.
-Cut a 8″ piece of embroidery thread and put it through one end of the skein.
-Cut a 3″ piece of thread and wrap around right below the top of the thread. Tie a knot tightly and trim ends.
-Cut thread ends to desired length. (You can use the other end of the skein to repeat the same process.)
-Use embroidery needle to feed the ends of the 8″ thread up through the wooden ball.
-Tie a knot in the top of the 8″ piece of thread and trim ends.DIY Wooden Tassel Ornaments @themerrythoughtDIY Wooden Tassel Ornaments @themerrythoughtDIY Wooden Tassel Ornaments @themerrythoughtDIY Wooden Tassel Ornaments @themerrythoughtDIY Wooden Tassel Ornaments @themerrythought
