It’s not St. Patrick’s Day without a Shamrock Shake! We love these green minty drinks of deliciousness. And they’re not just limited to McDonald’s anymore, so many restaurants and shops offer them now. For the past few years on St. Patrick’s Day, our family has been going to the local chocolate / ice cream shop to enjoy some Shamrock Shakes. It’s been a really fun tradition and we’ve had a bit of Irish luck the last couple of years and had great weather and got to enjoy our shakes outside!
With how much our family enjoys these treats, I thought we should give making them at home a try. It’s so easy and quick and requires ingredients I almost always have on hand…Shamrock Shakes year round!! Celebrate this St. Patrick’s by making yourself one of these delicious shakes!
3 cups vanilla ice cream
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
green food coloring, a few drops to get the coloring desired
1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until completely thick and smooth. Pour into glasses, top with whipped cream and sprinkles and enjoy!
