This Lucky Charms snack mix feels like such an old school recipe. But I just can’t seem to pass up the chance to make holiday themed food! Plus, this is so addicting…and super easy to make! Everywhere I take this white chocolate snack mix it gets eaten so quickly! Kids and adults both love it! You can make this year round, using regular cereals, which is what I normally do; but the Lucky Charms are a fun twist for a St. Patrick’s Day dessert!
Here’s the ingredients you’ll need:
Mixing up this Lucky Charms snack mix is super easy. You combine the cereals, pretzels, peanuts and m&m’s in a large bowl. Melt the white chocolate and pour it over. Then spread it out to cool. And then see how much self-control you have by not munching it all down! (See the recipe card below for the specific details). This recipe makes a very large bowl, so it’s great for a crowd. If you’re not wanting a giant bowl of it, you will want to cut the recipe in half.
- 5 cups Lucky Charms cereal
- 3 cups Honey Chex cereal
- 4 cups mini pretzels
- 2 cups peanuts
- 10 ounces green m&m's (or just regular/mini m&m's)
- 18 ounces white chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
-
Combine cereals, pretzels, peanuts and m&m’s in a large bowl, set aside.
-
In a medium bowl, microwave chocolate in 30-second increments, stirring well after each time, until chocolate is melted and smooth. (I always add 2 teaspoons of canola/vegetable oil to the chocolate before microwaving). Be careful not to overheat the chocolate! When the chips are all just about melted, but you can still see some unmelted chips, keep stirring and the few unmelted ones should melt while you stir.
-
Pour melted chocolate over cereal mixture, stirring to coat.
-
Pour onto waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.
