Mini Fishtail Twist

Mini Fishtail Twist @themerrythoughtMost all of the ladies in my family have thick, crazy hair that doesn’t like to look smooth and soft very often. We’re always looking for quick, easy hairstyles to keep the frizz out of our faces… you can only toss your hair up in a bun so much before you get bored!
Mini Fishtail Twist @themerrythought My cousin, Denae, has some serious lioness hair going on and it’s always fun to try out new styles on her. I finally learned how to do a fishtail braid (my dad even knew how to do it before me!) so I wanted to try this simple style out on her. This works best with tousled, layered hair.

How-to: Pull a section from the front of each side use a comb to tease it a little bit – or a lot if your hair isn’t naturally curly. Twist each section until they come together – we did this braid so that it would be on the right side of her head instead of down the middle.Take the two sections and begin fishtail braiding them together — Take a small piece from the outside of the left section and cross it over top to join the inside of the right section and then take a small piece from the outside of the right section and cross it over top to join the inside of left section. Continue this and then tie off with elastic.
