Welcome Home

Over the weekend we went to visit my brother, Craig, in Brooklyn. It was the second time for Lincoln and Malacai’s first trip to the big city. We had lots of fun! It was especially nice to be there to celebrate Craig turning the big 3-0…happy birthday old man! I ended up only taking pictures with my phone since I didn’t feel like lugging around my real camera, so excuse the not so great quality in some photos (and if you’re a follower on Instagram, you’ve probably seen a few of these photos…).
NYC is actually a great place to go with little boys who are obsessed with transportation. The boys were in heaven seeing & riding the subway, getting to ride the ferry, and seeing so many vehicles of all sorts non-stop! And we chose very kid-friendly activities and did mostly take-out so that the boys didn’t have to wait long at restaurants (plus we had a pretty big group there!).
Some of our highlights were visiting Pier 6 where they have an amazing playground. Riding the subway. Visiting Coney Island (it was chilly and no rides were open, but it was actually the perfect time to go to just take in the view and enjoy Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs! No crowds is always a plus for me.). Visiting Uncle Craigy’s office where he has a phenomenal view (and a bowl full of legos & bouncy balls)! Riding the Staten Island Ferry. And of course, trying lots of NYC food – donuts, bagels, pizza, Shake Shack!!
It was so much fun hanging out in the city for the weekend with my family. It was so nice to come home to my baby though – I missed him lots. We’re so thankful for Caitlin who watched Levi for the weekend (we felt like he too young to really appreciate the trip and his nap schedule would have made things a bit tricky). The little guy really missed his brothers (heart melting!).

Here’s to fun family adventures! Manda
