We recently celebrated the beginning of summer with a family bonfire night. I have to say, nights like these are one of my favorite things. There was nothing grand or spectacular about it, I didn’t plan anything in advance and everything we did took took very little time to prepare. Because the evening was about being together…and enjoying each other. And it was exactly that. We roasted hot dogs over the fire, then marshmallows and s’mores for dessert. After, we walked across the field to a small hill and the boys enjoyed rolling down it. Their childhood delight was too much to resist – Mike and I joined in! (And oh did it make feel old! I got dizzy rolling down that tiny hill – something that never happened when I was a kid!). We tucked the boys into bed and then Mike and I enjoyed some coffee and quiet out by the fire. I hope to have many more summer nights like this. I hope to fill the boys summer memories with them!
