DIY Flannel Blanket Scarf

While browsing through the flannels before making the flannel placemats I found so many pretty, soft flannels that I wanted to use for projects – and I may have went a bit crazy buying up a bunch of them! We were just beginning the cold season around here and I wanted to collect everything and anything remotely cozy before winter came in and covered us in snow for 8 months. Since pretty much every flannel blanket scarf I’ve ever see in the store has red in it and I’m not a huge red fan, I whipped up a neutral flannel scarf for myself! I know this project has been made a million different ways by a million different people but I’ve never made one myself! And I decided to share it in case you’re looking for a SUPER easy last minute gift that only costs a few dollars!DIY Flannel Blanket Scarf @themerrythoughtDIY Flannel Blanket Scarf @themerrythoughtWhat you need:
-1 Yard Flannel
-Scissors

How to make it:
-Cut off the edges of the fabric if they are hemmed at all.
**You might want to start up a Christmas movie at this point because the next steps are a bit tedious.
-Along one of the edges, separate out a thread (you might want to use a seam ripper to get started), keep pulling the thread along that entire side until it is completely separated. Repeat until the fringe is as long as desired.
-Repeat along each side of the scarf.
-Package it up and send it to a friend!
