3 Ways To Wrap Presents

Happy December – it’s the most wonderful time of the year!! (← I hope you all sang that as you were reading!) Has anyone finished their Christmas shopping yet? Or are you like us and haven’t even started yet?! (Yikes!) Each year we both want to do better on getting our shopping/making done earlier so that we have more time to spend on wrapping gifts – something we think is fun and try to be a little more creative with. Once in a while though, you just have those gifts that are bulky or difficult to wrap. Sure, you can just throw them in a box and call it good, but we never seem to have enough boxes to do that when it comes down to wrapping time and it’s lacking that special touch. As part of our Michaels Makers challenge this month, we came up with three ways to help you with those hard to wrap gifts! These are all simple ways to wrap, but still look pretty and let you get a little creative in the process!3 Ways to Wrap Difficult Objects @themerrythought3 Ways to Wrap Difficult Objects @themerrythought3 Ways to Wrap Difficult Objects @themerrythoughtSewn Kraft Paper Pouches
-kraft paper
-scissors
-sewing machine
-thread
-tape or sticker

Cut kraft paper into a square (or rectangle), the size will vary, depending on how big you’d like your pouch to be. Fold in half, leaving a couple inches longer on top, this will be the flap that is folded over. Sew up the two sides of the paper, we used a zigzag stitch. Slide in your gift, fold the top flap over and tape the pouch shut!3 Ways to Wrap Difficult Objects @themerrythoughtBrushstroke Gift Bags & Boxes

Dip paint brush in the paint, dab off some paint, and make quick small brush strokes on the bags or boxes.3 Ways to Wrap Difficult Objects @themerrythoughtFabric Wrapping Paper
-fabric
-scissors
-greenery (optional)

Cut a piece of fabric into a square, the size will vary, depending on how big the gift. Place your gift in the middle of the fabric. Take the top of your fabric, fold over your gift and then tuck under your gift. Take the bottom half of your fabric and pull it up to the center, folding the point under so it creates a line across the center of the gift. Fold in the sides and tie a knot in the center. Tuck in a spring of rosemary or pine to add an extra touch!3 Ways to Wrap Difficult Objects @themerrythoughtSo do you enjoy wrapping gifts?
